hi, i was recently charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor in tx. the police showed up to my house because we called for an ambulance to assist with someone having a stroke (which we later found out was a fake stroke). three minors were taken to jail for MIC, and only two people that were of age were taken for furnishing (myself and one other person). i checked TABC's website about the issue, and it says that only people who are leasing or owning the house are responsible for minors there. my name was not/is not on the lease, and there were approx 8 people who were of age that can testify that i did not provide alcohol to minors, all of which were not given sobriety tests. will these testimonies stand up in court? i am willing to take this charge to trial, will the state most likely drop the charge or continue to pursue a conviction? also, the TABC website says that if convicted my DL will be suspended for 180 days. i attempted to renew my license online earlier today, i was informed that i was not elligible to renew it this way, could this be because i have this charge pending, or is there some kind or automatic suspension similar to that which is incurred when charged with a DWI?
thanks
