My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of Virginia. I was on a one year lease. I informed my landlord with 60 days remaining on the lease that I would be re-signing. However, the end of my lease has come and gone with no lease to sign, so I'm now month to month. A house just came on the market that I'd like to put an offer on. Is my notice of intent to re-sign legally binding? Would I be on the hook for paying the term of the lease that hasn't been given to me to sign yet?
