My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Washington
I'm wondering the legality of my situation. I moved into a 4 bedroom home as a month-to-month tenant this January with a few others (all rooms on individual leases). My landlord kept 1 bedroom to herself, and, upon us moving in, she claimed that she would live in the bedroom a few days to 2 weeks of the month, as she was planning on continuing her travels. After that, the landlord never really left. So my roommates and I were misled into living with our landlord full time.
My landlord does not pay rent, but charges us as if we're renting out the full 4 bedroom home. She wants to get about 75% more a month than what her mortgage is. Also, her boyfriend was living with us for a few months rent-free. She(/they) do not pay utilities. She(/they) is(/are) also unemployed, so it feels even more like she's taking advantage of this cash flow.
I'm guessing there's not much to be said, since I'm a month-to-month tenant. But...is this fishy?
