I am not a mandated reporter...but I would REALLY like some advice please. I know what it's like, and if it's true, it would be a shame. What's the worse thing that could happen if the abuse never took place? What would happen to her? The family?
Will I get in trouble for making a "false report"?
I am only concerned because I don't want CFS to invade when there's not an incident...or to investigate and assume nothing is going on, which will only make her mother even angrier.
I am not a professional...personally, I believe her. But if a PROFESSIONAL staff member says that it doesn't exist...he is the one with experience, right? I don't know what to do...this is NOT as easy as you think it is! You need to think about all sides. I am only an undergraduate intern in my third year! He probably knows the girl better than I do.
Okay, I don't even know this girls's last name, okay? I think talking to the supervisor first is important. I am only an undergraduate, and if they get mine AND the supervisor's statement, it would be more valid. It would be taken more seriously. Remember, not all call reports are investigated!!
