    Default H4 Visa Query

    Hi,

I'm currently on a H4 visa, and have yet to enter the US. I have the following questions:
    1) If I found a job & the company is willing to sponsor my H1B visa, would that be considered a visa transfer from H4 to H1B, or its a new H1B application?
    2) If either, would it be subjected to the yearly H1B quota? & what's the processing times in both instances?
    3) Would it be easier for me to find a job in the US whilst overseas or to enter the US, then find a job?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It should be possible for you to convert to H1 status if you have a job offer from a U.S. company which is willing to sponsor you for the H-1B visa, can establish that you are qualified for the employment, and have had prior experience in your field of expertise. Any new H-1B is subject to the quota.
