    Default Littering: Misdemeanor or Infraction?

I was given a ticket 2 1/2 years ago for throwing a cigarette out of the window of my moving car. I went to court, pleaded guilty and paid a $100 fine. When I paid the fine, the clerk told me that it would not be on my record. I am now applying for a job which asks me if I have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony. Do I have to answer yes to this because of the littering? Or was this just an infraction? I was not sentenced to probation or anything. Thanks!

What was the exact charge (statute or locality and ordinance number) on the ticket?
