    Default Questions Regarding Minnesota Shoplifting

I am heading to court tomorrow morning on a shoplifting charge. My question is am I better off with an attorney or without? This is my first charge and it was under $40 so it is considered a misdemeaner. I completed the Shoplifters Preventative Course and am hoping this will show my desire to change. I have recently learned about diversion programs and am wondering if this course would be considered for that or not. Any advice ASAP would be helpful.

You are always better off having an Attorney at your side. When you go to court enter a not guilty plea and either hire an Attorney or request a Public Defender
