Default Removal From A Rape Case

i am currently undergoing a law degree [1st yr]
and was recently removed from a rape case due to the defence using an act and a certain section of this act that claimed that the defendant had a legal right to not have the public on the trial.
I was wondering if someone would possibly know what act and section that might be.
    thanking you

If you're in law school, then you know that laws are different in each country, and possibly in each state or province within the country. You need to check the laws for your jurisdiction.

Also what are you talking about? Your exclusion from a jury venire?

Well i am in Victoria Australia
And there was no jury, it for a request from the defence.
I am scanned through the Crimes Act and some Criminal Legislation but have found nothing.
Thanks for the help any way.
