For anyone that's asked anything relating to FAFSA- If one is homeless anytime after July 1st in the year that they are applying for FAFSA (2018), they can gain dependency override on FAFSA so long as it is verified by a social worker, whether through school or another organization (such as a shelter, mental health facility, etc). So yes, after discussing it with my school's crisis worker, I will more than likely be declared independent on FAFSA forms.
I'm sorry if my rather curt responses have seemed to be "lashing out", but I came to a legal forum seeking advice on what my legal rights are to my educational and medical records- I didn't come here to be told that other people have it worse, that I'm being dramatic, etc, in no certain terms.
