    Default Marrying an Illegal Immigrant

You mean to say, you want to marry a person who is illegally in the United States? That person will not receive status as a result of marriage.

The proper avenues for bringing a person into the country for marriage are the fiance visa or a marriage visa - that is, a K-1 nonimmigrant visa if you are getting married in the U.S., or a K-3 nonimmigrant visa if you are getting married in the foreign nation.

Traveling to the U.S., getting married, and then applying for permanent residency status is not an option. If your fiance wants permanent residency as a first step toward citizenship, your fiance must follow proper immigration procedures.

    Default Re: marrying an immigrant

Hi, actually I would like to add some information for you to this question you have posed. It is possible for you to marry an immigrant to help them gain access to america. I was involved in a marriage with a couple where he was an illigal alien and she married him for him to receive status with the United States. They have been married now for 3 years and have a beautiful daughter and are living happily ever after. Of course they did have to file papers along the way. But it did make things a whole lot easier for them because they are married. I am looking to marry a man from a different country as well right now. He is here on a student Visa. We've been talking about getting married for 2 years now, so I called a lawyer and they gave me very good advice. They said before we could do anything legally we needed to be married. So that answered my question and we needed to do it before he left the country. So I am very excited. Here is the name of the lawyer and the phone number and the website. I hope it can help you out and may your dreams come true as well. Here is the information...

Default Marrying Somebody Without Lawful Immigration Status

The situation is very different when the immigrant has lawful status, versus when the person is in the country illegally.

Default How can I marry my fiance before he has to leave on his VISA

I understand this, however, my friend was marrying an illigal immigrant and now they are happily married for 3 years and have a wonderful daughter to add to their family. Could you please tell me your knowledge of what to do when your fiance is here on a student visa and you do not want to break any laws as my friend did. We want to do the upright way and to respect our country. My fiance says if our country would welcome him here he does not want to break their respect or their laws. He is now in OK going to school then he will be sent in two weeks for job training in the oil industry for 4 weeks of training and I am living in NC. He does not want to come to NC to get married because it is not stated on his visa for this and he doesn't want to break the law. However an attorney told him that this was the way to go. That we should get married and then he would handle our case from there. What should we do? We do not want to break the law. And we do not want him to go back to his country where a dictator is in leadership and is so harsh. This has been a hard couple of years on us. We have had to go to other countries to see each other as he has been allowed to go for work and then I would meet him there. We are both very moral and have been waiting for our wedding night to consimate the marriage and we can't wait...we are so excited. But we do not know who to believe. We just want to live happiliy ever after!

    Default Immigration Lawyer's Advice

If you are in consultation with an immigration lawyer, I am not in a position to second-guess your lawyer's advice.
