Default Accused of Sending Nude Picture to a Minor

My question involves criminal law for the state of: TX and NY

    I am 20

-Met on dating app, her age on profile was 18 or 19 ( i forget i deleted it) (The dating app requires users to be 18+)
-she gave me her number first, I texted her through a mobile app
-she sent her face pic, i sent a random flexing pic of my body transformation before and after i worked out just a random picture of me on my phone..
-She asked me how big I was and then she sent me half naked pictures.
-Then I sent her my private picture without the face.
-I found out that she was younger than 18. (She is turning 18 in 2 months). The girl said she had 2 kids and looks like she is 23- 24 years old.
-Then suddenly her dad texts me that you were sending pictures to a minor and her mom found out so the girl hit her mom and she got stitches on her head. He even sent me few pictures of someone in the hospital. (I looked at the pictures closely and they seemed like all different people. and I couldn't see stitches on her head)

    Dad Contact part
-says he has all the texts/evidence
-Basically he threatens to call police. and asks me are you going to take responsibility like financially.
-and I wasn't there for an hour and when I saw the phone. I had a voice mail saying I am investigator Scott and Mr. Gregg has filed a complain against you call me before 5 pm.( I searched the phone number and it was actual police number. And he knew what town I live in.)
-Then he calls me from the girl's number and asks me to pay him $5100 and he will drop the charges.
-i say I am a college student in debt with loans and cannot make payment.
-Awkward silence...he doesn't respond, I ask what advice can you give me.
-He says how about other loans.
-So I panicked and he asked me to sent it through western union. and then I called the actual police and said that someone left a voicemail to call them back( told what the voice mail said not the whole thing). and they said they can not figure out who called with only this little info.
-Then he called again and asked me if I received a voicemail from the police. And I said I will talk to my lawyer.
-Then he texted me that man I tried to help you but now you're going to jail. They will come and arrest you.

I feel worried and anxious that I may be in trouble.

    What do I do?

If this is actually legitimate, would the father of been better off just bringing me to court?

I have read that people try to scam you by spoofing police's number. I'm really freaking out. And yes I've learned my lesson that no one should send naked pics to anyone.

It is a scam. He would not have the option of dropping the charges so if the police are already involved, it would be of no benefit to pay him anyway.
