Default Banned/Suspended on Chatrandom for Exposing Myself Due to Recent Legal Changes

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

So, I was dumb, thought I'd take a spin at something I hadn't done for a while (at least a year ago). Of course that was cyber sex related to a random video chat site Chatrandom. I didn't read the Terms of Service (idiotic, I know), and I was unaware of any recent online law (I believe) that I think involves around cracking down child pornography online. Because of this new or change in law, or maybe a software update, I'm not really sure, a photo was snapped of myself (yes, I was exposed) for review for improper use of the site. I never knew whether or not this activity was against the rules before as I was told about said activity by a couple of friends years ago (the act of cyber sex with random adults online via a random adult chat service).

Anyway, I was under the impression that this was an adult site to begin with which is why I never read the Terms of Service. Anyway, about 2-5 minutes in I noticed the warning about no nudity or sexual acts at the bottom of the window which didn't show up for a few seconds after loading a new person. I was skipping people quickly, all adults to my knowledge (no one looked younger than their 20s from what I saw), during those couple of minutes. Moments after I took the time to actually read the warning blurb, that's when I got hit with the ban. Again, a photo of myself exposed was taken for review. This brings up a window saying I can expedite the review process for 10 bucks (covers a resource fee according Terms of Service, however there is no place to respond about the suspension), and I emailed them about the photo (I didn't pay for an expedite), but I am still paranoid because I don't know how this will be handled.

Anyway, because this was all new to me, I actually read the Terms of Service and learned about the review process, but because there's so much going on, I am even more paranoid now and I just want answers. I don't care about the service, I don't want to use the service anymore, I just want peace of mind that I am not going to be reported for a sexual offense and have to register as a sex offender. Everyone was an adult that I saw, I was under the impression this was an adult site (from past experiences and word of mouth), And given the chance I would have closed out as I wanted to avoid this kind of situation to begin with! It's why I stopped doing this junk for the most part last year and I made the mistake of giving it a go again this morning.

Here is a link to the Terms of Service for reference: https://chatrandom.com/terms/

My ip address ban and photo is under pending review (I don't have an account to the site, always went in as a guest) as far as I am aware and should be reviewed in 30 days from today, maybe sooner, or immediately if I pay 10 dollars.

I seriously just need advice and peace of mind. I am stressed and afraid.

    TL;DR

I went to Chatrandom, a site I was under the impression was for adults for random video cybersex (based on word of mouth and past experiences using the site) and was banned because I failed to read the Terms of Service about exposure. I had use this site last year with no issues.

This was the only time I used the site this year, so I was unware if any changes were made. (Not sure if it is legal changes, or site changes, etc. All I know is it happened)

The ban took an exposed photo of myself for review for sexually criminal activity, no face was shown. I don't know if this is about child porn, or if even what I did with adults will lead to a report to authorities

Terrified about the concequences and I just want answers, but the website is not forthcoming about whether I will only be banned for breaking Terms of Service, or if there will be a report being made for sexual misconduct.

Chatrandom's monkeys. Chatrandom's rules. This is not illegal discrimination.
If you're an adult, it's doubtful that any CRIMINAL misconduct exists. Go find something else to waste time on.

But excuse me, they asked for a naked photo of you to investigate something AND money? I think you've been had.

The photo they took themselves from the video feed as "evidence" to decide if I broke the terms and if anything criminal was done. Of course I hope said image is deleted after their decision is made. Of course the whole money thing is shady too, with a nice blurb in their Terms of Service as a means to cover the costs of expediting the "case". Either way, I'm not paying just to be told I broke the Terms haha! All I care is that this isn't something they can criminally charge me for, which naïve, dumb me can't seem to grasp from their Terms of Service.

Thanks for the quick reply! Any other input is welcome.

Hopefully the lesson sinks in and fades into nothingness and remains only that, a lesson learned. The last thing I need is to explain personal stupidity in my mid 20s when applying for a job etc.!

I do not now, and I never will, understand why so many people find it necessary to expose themselves/send pictures of their genitalia to people on the internet that they don't know.

That being said, count me among those who think you've been scammed. I'd be less worried about the website criminally charging you with anything, and more worried about what the fallback is going to be about whatever use they put the picture to. I very much doubt it's being used to decide if you violated the terms and services of the website. But I suspect that picture is going up on the net somewhere - in what capacity, I'm not prepared to say.

Dang kids wandering around our lawns with their naughty bits hanging out. Hey you kids! Get off our lawn! Put some clothes on too!

But on a more serious note, it just seems to be the way some members of the current generation chooses to perform the mating ritual.

cdwjava, I agree with you and cbg. Young people have gotten lazy. They don't want to put forth the time and energy to meet people face to face and have a,real relationship. They would rather sit or lay on their behinds and make excuses for their behavior.

Young people think they know everything about everything because they google it. They think they are so smart. Unfortunately, smart is the last thing many of them are.

Honestly, from personal experience and talking with others (of all ages who've done similar stupid things through out life), it works like a drug addiction almost. However, I can't speak for everyone as I did know one guy while taking a course on small group counseling who thrived off stuff like this. Kind of creepy actually, almost like it was oxygen for him and he was proud to say so. I myself got hooked into by friends, did it for a couple of years because it was a new experience, quick and easy time killer, quit it last year as I got disinterested, had an itch for another go and caved in for a quick fix. Realized the hard way why it was stupid to begin with.

Anyway, I would rather it be a scam by a website to post anonymous pictures of peoples dingles than see my local authorities show up at my door for some "tough love". Best case scenario they'll just ban me from the site and I walk away from the proverbial hot stove with my hands burned for a little because I decided to touch said stove.

Okay, now think about this a little bit.

WHERE are they going to post your picture, and what makes you think it will be anonymous?

Said the preceding generation about the proceeding generations every time.
