Default Removing My Name From Property

My parents used my SSN along with my sister to purchase a home. I wish (need) to have my name removed from this property due to the fact that is has too many late payments, the only item ruining my credit and might affect my chances of owning my own home in the future. How do I get the property out of my name and prove that I truely have had nothing to do with this property?

You're speaking here of your being named to a mortgage? This was done with or without your permission?

Yes, my name is on the mortgage and loan. It was done when I was younger. I don't think I had a real choice.

In other words, they asked when you were a legal adult and you said "yes". Understandably you felt pressure, but that's a separate issue.

I don't know of any cheap and easy solution for you. Are you only on the mortgage or do you also have an interest in the property (i.e., are you on the title)?

I believe my sister and I are both on the title.

If you're on the title, you can talk to a lawyer about an action to force a sale of the property. (Unfortunately that can be an expensive, time-consuming process.)

Have you tried talking to your parents about this and resolving it with them?

What your parents did is against the law. You can go to the title company and talk to them.
No parent should put thier children in this position ever! Sorry for your sitution and I hope you can get this solved.

It's not against the law if they had her consent, and it sounds like she consented (albeit under pressure).
