    Default Are You Liable for Rent After Breaking a Lease if Landlord Finds a Replacement Tenant

    My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Illinois

    Broke lease, owner got new tenant. Am I still liable for future rent?

    No, the landlord cannot collect rent from both you and the new tenant.
