My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Oregon. In the city of Portland.
I am currently circulating a petition for an initiative for Company A from 11am-7pm mon-fri. I am also circulating 2 other petitions from company B during the exact same hours (11am-7pm mon-fri). Neither company knows I am employed by the other. I am fufilling the work requirements of each job. I am only required to get a certain amount of signatures within a given timeframe. So, I effectively get paid for 16 hrs each day while only using 8 hrs of my time. Is this legal? I don't mind if it's grounds for termination. I'm just concerned about the legality of it.
