My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: England
I have had a lot going on with my manager at work and was already going to put in a lengthy complaint. I’ll leave that out but it’s a bit of background info.
I found out my mother has breast cancer for the second time two weeks ago on Thursday. I called my manager at 6:30pm and told him I may be late in as I was going to see her in hospital. I came into work two hours late the following day (Friday) and informed him of the situation, he could see I was visibly upset and I said I was leaving which he said was fine. I went on holiday to turkey for a week on the Monday for a week and was due to come back in on Wednesday.
When arriving at work I was greeted by my colleagues asking if my mother was OK, Which instantly had me annoyed and angry, I went straight to HR when they got in and explained the situation and said I wanted to make a complaint and she told me I could go home for the day. I am currently sitting in the staff room at 6am ready to start work but still angry and annoyed, and hoping my manager doesn’t come in as he hasn’t been in all week. I don’t want to stand I’m my room (I work alone to a point with windows where everyone can see I’m annoyed when I’m usually the happiest person here and keep spirits up) getting annoyed for him to come in at 7 with nobody above him yet in the building.
I already have issues with him being a bully and we end up arguing because I won’t be bullied, and I feel like this will be a tipping point if I end up with a confrontation about this. Any advice would be brilliant. Thanks in advance.
