As an evacuee post Katrina having fled to Baton Rouge, I responded to an ad on Monster for a job (sales position) Since I had previous experience and contacts, I indicated that I would like to work the same territory. (Gulf Coast Area which included Biloxi/New Orleans/Baton Rouge)

The company was desparate to hire someone for this position due to the fact that they had suspended billing for clients post Katrina and would not be able to bill them again until they had a sales manager in the field. I also interviewed with several people at their HQ and in every interview they made it quite clear that they were desperate to get the markets up and running again to be able to bill the clients. They designed an employment offer for me based on my geographical base of contacts indicating I was to be the Sales Manager of the Biloxi/New Orleans/Baton Rouge area (this is in writing in 3 documents) After I had completed training, I recieved a database of the client contacts from HQ which excluded Biloxi. When I asked the sender about this, he stated that he was told only to give me the info of the New Orleans and Baton Rouge info. I was then told that Biloxi was owned exclusively by another party that had exclusive rights to the Biloxi territory and always had exclusive rights to the territory from day one. I was not allowed to sell there. The remaining territory was not large enough to produce the results needed to achieve a quota and they did not change my quota responsibility due to the reduced territory promised.

Any time I would try to talk to my boss and others about the Biloxi territory, they told me that it was not open to discussion. no one would acknowledge my signed employment offer, the signed acceptance agreement as well as the signed employment agreement. This made a HUGE difference because of the size of the Biloxi territory and the amount of clients in the area, as well as the fact that I was expected to meet a quota.

I was there for a few months before things got so heated over my territory that they fired me. I was never given an explanation of the territory and the employment agreement misrepresentation (fraud)

I know I have a fraudulent inducement/misrepresentation action, but could n't this be criminal fraud? If so, how do I report it? They knowingly went into this contract with false information because the other party had existing and pre-existing long term exclusve rights under another contract. I think they just needed someone so badly post katrina, that they promised me anything I wanted just to get me to take the job.
