    Default Interest on Medical Bills

Can a medical office charge patients interest on unpaid medical bills? If so, in what amount?

Default Re: Interest on Medical Bills

As long as the patient's contract with the medical care provider allows for interest, the medical office can charge interest.

The amount can be any amount set by contract, subject to the state's maximum interest rate (usury) laws.
