Exclamation Adjustment of Status Under DV Visa Interview and Evidence of Financial Support

Hi, I recently got a notice for an interview for Adjustment of Status under DV visa.

I got a checklist of what I have to bring in the interview and found an evidence of financial support listed.

Since I thought I don't need to show a kind of evidence due to DV visa, I don't have it in part because I am still an F1 student having no income.

I would like to know if anyone has had an interview recently with the same condition to me and tell me what happend.

    Thanks

As a diversity lottery winner, financial support comes into play in two potential contexts:

First, if you are not in the U.S., an immigration officer's finding that you are unable to support yourself could result in your being deemed inadmissible. As you are in the U.S., that does not apply to you.

Second, when you seek to adjust your status, you need to convince the USCIS or State Department that you will not be dependent upon public assistance during your time in the United States. You are not required to file an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) in order to adjust your status. However, you may be required to demonstrate that you have a sufficient level of income or other assets that you can use to support yourself after you obtain permanent residency. You can also have somebody, usually a friend or relative, file an I-134 affidavit of support.

Even as a student, you may be able to demonstrate that you have sufficient income and assets to support yourself. Some students have sufficient income and assets for self-support. Some who are near graduation can document that they have obtained employment and document the income that they will receive from their future employer.
