Angry Roommate wants me out no lease what are my rights (New Jersey)?

    Hello,
2 days ago my roommate decided to tell me he wants me out because wants the bigger room so that when his child stays over he has room. And since he needs to pay child support now he will rent his old room out for $500 and right now the rent is $650 and we pay half of everything including the rent. He has no lease with the landlord as neither do I ..but he was the one who wanted me to move in after his ex left ..he asked me to move in and I agreed. I just think this is nuts and I am not sure if I have any rights or if he has any grounds. The landlord nows that I also live here as him and I both take turns handing in the rent. If anyone could help me please do. I also am going to suggest that he just turns the living room into his bedroom being that I do not use it anyway. I come home and I am in the bedroom ya know.. Please hlep

    Thanks
    Gina

Just exactly who are you renting from?

    The landlord?

    Or your boyfriend?

Well the agreement was with the friend I hadnt spoken to the landlord about moving in. Although the landlord does know I am living there as well but my friend had the place first. But when paying the rent I am giving it to the landlord not the friend.

    Okay.

Well, tell whoever you are not leaving till you get an eviction judgment from a court.

Sorry to post again but I am very lost now. I gave the landlord rent money today and got the receipt and my roomate asked what i did and was very annoyed I didnt give him the money to hand in. Then when he came back upstairs he informed me that the landlord is going to give him a lease for the apartment because he asked for it and that I need to be out by the 15th of next month otherwise he is going to change the locks.. Now what do I do?
