Default High Electric Bills Due to Old Air Conditioner Unit

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Florida.

My landlord refused to replace the old non energy efficient AC unit for 9 months until it totally needed replaced. Duke energy agreed the high bills were the AC unit , AC guy agreed as well. My bills were sometimes triple what they should have been for the size of the house. After the AC was repaired the energy bills are normal.

The landlord announced she is raising the rent and wants a 2 year lease and would like it a month earlier than the original lease. Mind you there are other repairs she has yet to handle as promised. I would like to know if my landlord is responsible for any of the enormous energy bills that I had to pay? It really affected me financially.
