    Default Can Your Employer Send You Home Early to Avoid Paying Overtime

    My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: new york. Say i work a 10 hour day on monday can my employer send me home 2 hours early the next day to avoid paying me overtime at the end of the week

    Yes, he absolutely can. While he is required to pay you overtime if you work it, there is absolutely nothing in the law prohibiting him from arranging your schedule so that you do not work overtime.
