You don't have to sign a replacement copy -- but if the lease term is one year or less, you can be held to an oral lease agreement, so your telling the landlord that you did agree to that additional term could bind you to a renewal even if the document cannot be located. If the landlord finds the original, which remains possible, that would also prove your commitment to the additional lease term.
