My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Michigan
We had an employee quit and move out of state and left no forwarding address.
He left his very large tool box & tools in our company garage. We have made several attempts to contact him to get this tool box removed (it takes up a very large space). But he does not return our calls and letters have been returned "unable to deliver - no forward address".
What are our rights with this property? We need to hire another mechanic and need this space his tool box occupies. We are trying to find space in storage for it, are we liable for damage or theft, if it occurs, while we hold his property?
These items cannot be shipped.
Thank you!
