I have recently been promoted to Supervisor at a Dining Room at a senior living community in California. I was trained for over two weeks. I was supposed to have a meeting with my manager about my new pay rate but he never showed up on the day. I have started working now on my own as the supervisor this weekend and I am still getting paid at $7.75/hr. from when I started as a server. I think it is unfair and rude. I have also spoke to other employees about this and one employee almost quit but the manager pursuaded him by giving him a raise of $13/hr! The manager told him not to tell anyone because everyone makes less. What can I do about this situation? Aren't I supposed to already be getting paid more for working as a supervisor? And is what the manager doing legal? Please help! Thanks!
