My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan
Hey I'm a father of a 13, almost 14, year old girl in Lansing, Michigan. I posted something similar to this in a parenting forum but I didn't really get much help so I am trying my luck here.
The general gist is that I found my daughter on this app called Whisper. I have never heard of it before in my life. Well I go into it and find she was having some conversation that is about 5 days old with some man whose location says he is a 22 year old from Tallahassee, Florida. Luckily my daughter never sent any dirty pics to him, and this guy never sent any dirty pics to my daughter. However, when she sent him a fully clothed picture, albeit in short shorts, he told her that she looked "super hot and sexy". That is very creepy I felt. He then asked her things like "why is she here", and "what are her plans tonight". My daughter just said she was bored and wanted to be entertained". The conversation stopped there and this guy deleted the chat room. It has been two days since.
What do you guys think I should do. Is there enough to hand over the police or do you think the police will not even take a look at this? I have already talked to and appropriately disciplined my daughter.
