My question involves civil rights in the State of: Washington

I was falsely accused and arrested for the first time in my life. I was held a total of 53 hours in solitary confinement. Though I asked repeatedly I was denied an attorney, denied use of a phone, denied medical care, denied medication. I was held in a cell that had no running water or toilet.

After I was transported to county corrections center by the police I was not booked. I asked for an attorney, use of the phone, my medication and medical attention. I was denied all of these.

I was held for 13 hours before being booked. I was held in a solitary confinement cell with no running water and no toilet. During those 13 hours, and after being denied medical attention, I had a seizure and the jail personnel left me unconscious on the floor of the cell. When they finally attended to me I was still denied necessary medication and emergency medical care. Following my seizure I was told by the jail personnel that they had taken me to the doctor when in fact they hadn't. I told the jailer that I had not gone to the doctor. The jailer replied, "That's not what our log says."

Jail personnel waited 13 hours to book me so I would not be able to attend the daily arraignment hearing for pre-trial detainees. Following booking I was returned to solitary confinement. I was tortured by three armed male officers who pushed me down, held me down on a cement bench and threatened to use a taser on me. I am a woman, 5'2", 135#.

I repeatedly asked for an attorney but none was provided. I was not allowed to use a phone for 30+ hours, though one was three feet from my cell. I was forced to attend my arraignment hearing without legal counsel. No public defender was present.

The jail personnel told me I was being held in solitary confinement because of my "attitude" and my "behavior". I repeatedly reminded them that punishing a person who has not been convicted of a crime is illegal and a violation of my rights. Still they persisted in torturing me.

I want to bring suit against the county this happened in. What are the pitfalls of bringing such a suit? Does anyone have advice for me or can point me to an attorney who will help with this case?
