My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
My neighbor has been trespassing on my property damaging my yard. She digs very deep holes to remove weeds and throws the debris which includes the weed, surrounding grass and dirt on my driveway. She left a sticky note in my mailbox telling me to "pull your weeds, don't just mow which spreads them." I sent her a certified letter with return receipt requesting that she stay out of my mailbox and stop trespassing on my property.
I maintain my yard per city ordinance, use weed and feed regularly and try to respect her yard / property. After she received the letter, she again pulled more weeds, lawn and dirt out of my yard and left it on the driveway. I filled in the holes after taking photos and have been following directions given to me to repair the lawn. I was letting the grass grow to 3" as per instructions, when she decided to mow my yard to a very short level in addition to mowing her lawn which adjoins my lawn, two and a half weeks after receiving the letter.
I called the police, but they did not come out - I believe because this is a minor issue to them. I have purchased a security camera which arrived today (4/9/18) and will set it up as soon as possible because her activity happens during the day when I am at work. If anyone has any more suggestions on what I can do to get this activity to stop, I would appreciate the information. At this time, I have documented the activity, taken photos and officially notified her to stop. I have not spoken to her as she is not reasonable to interact with. I have also reported her to the USPS regarding tampering with my mail. Thank you.
