My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas.
The electric utility company hires tree trimmers to trim trees within a right of way distance from their lines-ten ft maximum circumfrence from the high electric line. The trimmers were cutting our bushes down to 2-6 ft from the ground, which is very excessive, and resulted in the death and loss of landscaping that we had planted and nurtured for over 30 years.
While trying to inquire about why they were cutting bushes to the ground and fence level, the trimmers were discussing the matter in Spanish, and referred to my wife as "punta" several times, which is Spanish for "whore". After hearing this a few times, she responded to them in Spanish that she understood exactly what they had said, and would contact the utility company about their behavior.
Are there legal basis to pursue their actions with the police department or other legal means? She was standing in our private property, while the workers trimmed trees outside of our fence, which is also our private property.
