My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
Hey guys,
I made a really stupid decision about 1 month and was wondering if you guys could give me some advice. I know what I did was stupid but it was a one time thing and I wasn't thinking straight when doing it. I now regret it.
I am a 16 year old female high school student. I am almost 17. As many of you must know many high schoolers these days sext and send explicit messages and images to each other. I always have stayed out of this due to personal insecurities even though all of my friends do it. Well, last month I was rather curious and went to this anonymous chatting app for adults to flirt with some guys. I entered a chat with a couple of guys.
One of the chats I entered was with guy who said he was 25 on his profile and my profile said I was 18. He told me his real age was 21 and I said my real age was 16. He sent me some clean pictures of a guy and I was suspicious they were fake and not really him. He asked me for some normal picture and I sent him some. He said I looked "hot" so I then stupidly sent him a nude pic from the waist up and he replied "Wow!!". I then asked him for a nude picture of him. He sent me some picture of male's genitals which I think was fake. I then got distracted by other chats and he ended up deleting the chat.
I am now sitting here thinking how stupid I am for what I did. The thing is that I while I had multiple explicit chats I took screenshots of the chat I had with that person who told me he was 21 years old. I am really worried I made a decision I will end up regretting forever. Do you think I should go to the cops?
