You were in a heated argument relating to your brother-in-law, and you went immediately from that argument to firing a shot out of the window of your home. We do not know whether you could have directed a shot at your brother-in-law or the next door home from that window, and we do not know your brother-in-law's perceptions of your actions -- besides it being serious enough for hi to call the police, and taken seriously enough by the police and prosecutor such that you were criminally charged.
The person who is best positioned to analyze the facts, advise you as to what the prosecutor is likely to do, and help you formulate your defenses is your lawyer.
