    Default Denied Widow's Pension

    My question is I've been denied my husband's pension he work for the City of Houston during the time of his death and because of a different last name I had when we got married the city of Houston is refusing to give me his pension from 1997

    Have you given a copy of your marriage license to them ? Also a copy of your Texas Drivers License ? You might have to get documents proving you had a different last name when you and he got married. You might also need a copy of your birth certificate.

    You posted this in the divorce forum. Should we infer that you divorced your ex? If so, what does your divorce judgment say about division of the pension, and was a QDRO prepared, filed and accepted by the plan administrator?
