Default Re: Can You be Placed on Parole After You Complete Your Prison Term

After 2011 release on "parole" technically only exists for those with life sentences or other serious/violent felonies. Everything else is "post-release supervision."
If you have served an entire life sentence, you are dead. If you have not, then you remain subject to incarceration during a period of parole.

For any crime with a sentence of less than life in prison, if you max out you cannot be conditionally released, no matter what name we use to describe the conditional release, you cannot be conditionally released as you are not subject to further incarceration.

Whether you do your remaining time in jail or in prison, once you max out that's it -- no more community release / post-release supervision / parole / whatever term you choose to apply.
