Question Will You Be Caught for Shoplifting if You Set Off the Alarm then Flee

Yesterday I went to Kohl's for cologne and saw it was $35 and didn't want to pay for it. I took the cologne off the rack and noticed it said, "security device enclosed". I went behind a clothing rack and there was a camera above me but the clothes were blocking me and took the plastic off. I didn't have time to take the box off where the device was inserted so I put it in my shorts and it was somewhat noticable but I was close to the door so I walked out. I walked out as the same time this lady did and she had just purchased a bunch of stuff so we both walked out and the beeper went off. I kept walking but the lady went back to get her bag checked. It took me a while to find my car because I was panicing. I got in my car, took out the cologne and saw the device that set the alarm off. I threw the box under the car that was parked next to me and drove away.

    1. Can security get my license plate and track me down? I was parked in the middle of the lot, I don't even know if they had cameras outside, but they probably do
    2. Can people who are reading this get my email off this website and look at the number I attached it with and track me down? It is my real number but I removed it right after I made this accout

Is it possible that you will be tracked down by the police? Of course it is.

It is highly unlikely that somebody from Kohl's loss prevention was monitoring your thread before you deleted your email account from the thread.
