Default Loss of an Eviction Appeal Due to Lack of Notice of Hearing Date

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Pa.

    Non Residential,

I appealed my local magistrate's decision for rent increase and possession. I never received notice to appear for my new court date and a verdict was redeared without me being there. I only learned that there was a hearing without me, because I went to pay my lease amount to the appeals court and they denied payment because there was a verdict on the case. I motioned the court and I have a upcoming Arbitration hearing. My past attorney on this case didn't see a good outcome and refused to take the case, I was looking to get an continuance, but the judge refeused, stating because I didn't appear for the intial hearing. I need time, what can I do?
