My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Georgia
If an individual owes money to a bank and debt collectors show up to the house, is it legal to openly carry a legally purchased firearm while discussing the debt with them while on one's own property? This is what I would do if I were ever faced with talking with debt collectors. Obviously, I wouldn't harm them in any way, shape, or form unless they actually presented a clear and present danger to my life or the life of other individuals in the house.
While I was discussing the debt with them, I would simply sit there with the shotgun in my lap and rationally discuss the debt that I owed. If they began saying anything about my debt that wasn't what I intended to pay, I would just suddely and unexpectedly angrily shout at the top of my lungs at them, "Get the **** off my property immediately! I'll see you ****ers in court." This is one's legal right, and this would be how I'd exercise it. Just talk with them until they said something I wasn't willing to do, and then I'd just shout angrily, "Get the **** out of my house. I'll see you ****ers in court." I don't have any situation where I anticipate debt collectors showing up, but I was wondering if this would be a legal way to interact with debt collectors on one's own property. Also, would this type of interaction with debt collectors affect one's credit rating further if in fact this interaction is perfectly legal?
