My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California

Recently I was helped here but have had new developments in my situation. To summarize, this is a part-time job that I was terminated from due to budget cuts/not performance related and was offered severance. A week or two later I was offered another job by the same company (less pay) and I took it. They said it will take effect in the next coming weeks (and I should see my new schedule be in that dept). This was over a month ago. I've been working my same position since. My new schedule was released just a week ago and I saw that I was put in a completely different place to work, one that I would have rejected if I was offered it last month. Additionally, the following week I am not scheduled any hours at all. I spoke to my boss and they were confused as I was but said the new job is no longer available. The time period to receive severance also has ended. They will find out what exactly is happening in the next day or two.

Basically got screwed. What to make of this? Are they obligated to do anything at this point? Do I have a high chance of receiving unemployment benefits if I am indeed being ''de facto'' fired?
