Question Can Your Parents Keep You From Moving Out When You Turn 18

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Indiana

Can my mom keep me from moving out at 18 if she tells a court that My ADHD is keeping me from making the right choices for myself, and brings up my past of stealing from her and if I'm still in school, Even tho i can take care of myself I can get a job, i can get my licens and I can do whan I need to do to live on my own. When I move out I will be living with my boyfriends parent.

Her simply telling the judge you have ADHD would not do it. She would need to present medical evidence that you are incapable of handling your own affairs and have you deemed incompetent.

Probably similar answers since a few months ago when you asked.

You have three months to go until you are 18. If you are still in school I would suggest focusing on getting good grades, behaving yourself, keeping a civil tongue in your head, not getting knocked up, etc. so that if your mother does make good on her threat to attempt permanent guardianship through the courts the judge will see a responsible young adult and not someone who still needs to be supervised.

Is she trying to have you deemed incompetent? If she's not then I wouldn't worry about it. She would have filed something in court by now.

If she hasn't even filed anything in court, absent her seeking an emergency order alleging you are a danger to yourself or others, I doubt she could get in front of a judge and a ruling in 11 weeks. But alot depends on how busy the courts are, etc...

No she is threatening to do that. According to all of your posts she has not taken any of the actions that would be required.
