Default Copyright Violations in Fan-Made Video Games

I am writing this to inquire about reporting copyright infringement on behalf of a video game company. I have recently become aware of sources that are copying and altering material from the official video game company. As a concerned fan of the official games, I was wondering what official steps I may take to raise the awareness of this issue. Please let me know what I can do. Thank you

There are no official steps. If you want to tell the company that somebody is using their material, contact them and tell them. They will figure out what, if anything, they want to do in response to the report.

As I read the post, the issue is the use of copyrighted material in fan-made games, not the use, sale or distribution of unlicensed copies of software, but I suppose "copying and altering material from the official video game company" could involve the sale or distribution of unlicensed copies.

I've generally found people who hack these things don't tend to keep them to themselves. I've seen the business end of a BSA things from some high school kids of fellow employees.
