If you need information about the status of the case, speak to the victim's rights officer at the prosecutor's office or the prosecutor who is assigned to the case.
Details like:
Are you trying to stop the process already in motion?
Are you trying to understand how to keep yourself safe until a decision is made?
Are you trying to figure out how all this impacts children or others in your home?
Are you trying to get a restraining order?
Etc, etc, etc. We don't know the question. You see someone in the water, we don't know if they need a life preserver or another beer. We need a little more.
What kind of help do you need?
If you need assistance as a victim, contact your county's Victim-Witness advocate through the DA's office, Social Services, or even the courts (the source can vary by county).
If you wish to see the charges against your husband dropped, you will need to speak with the DA's office pursuing the case. Though, I would strongly suggest that you speak with a victim advocate or DV counselor before you actually make such a plea.
