    Default Emancipating A Minor Girlfriend

Ok, all y'all can think what you want, but I am 19, and I am dating a 16yo, I have to leave the state for college and I am nervous to leave her behind, I have family where I am going that would take her if she was Emancipated, and I really do love her, her parents are neglective to her and DSS has been involved in the past, I am afraid that if I leave I will lose all contact over the time I am gone, we both agreed pursuing Emancipation as a possibility might be a helpful tool, all I ask is if my family sends something to me to bring saying they can support her and take care if her if they will allow it.

I'll do ANYTHING for this girl.......and I can't stand even to think about it, I don't want to think of the possibilities that may follow if I do lose her.

Please help us......it's not just for me, it's for her mostly.

There isn't a judge in the country who will emancipate a 16 year old to allow her to leave the state with her 19 year old boyfriend. If she's being abused DSS might take her out of the home and put her in foster care, but there is NO chance that you'll be allowed to take her out of the state with you.

Have you ever heard of e-mail? Or telephones? Or even the US postal service?

I've heard of them yes, but her parents don't give her the mail I send her, they wont let her use the computer anymore and they dont let her use the phone, we have to sneak visits and my truck isn't the kind that blends in well.

My main question is, if my family over in the other state would clarify they would take care of her would the courts allow it?

No dis-respect BUDDY, but obviously I am not the one missing the point, I dont need your attitude, I ask for simple help and I dont need an attitude along with the answer, You have no clue how stressful this is on us and expecially her at this moment.

I will say this one more time, and if this gets another runaround, I wont be back on here, because I obviously wont have my answer, I HAVE FAMILY IN ANOTHER STATE, THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD SUPPORT, HOUSE, FEED AND PROCURE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS FOR HER, AS LONG AS THAT IS SET-UP I AM WONDERING IF THE COURTS WOULD ALLOW THE EMANCIPATION, I WONT EVEN BE IN THE AREA FOR ABOUT 16 MONTHS, I JUAT WORRY WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF I WERE TO LEAVE WITHOUT HER.

Now again I appologize if I have frustrated you but you were missing my question, now if the courts would shoot this down then thats what I will have to deal with, all I am here for is to find out what we aer up against and what could be done to make it happen, I refuse to allow her to runaway with me so this is the only option we have and I am hoping that there is a possibility this could happen, now I do appreciate and thank y'all for your already given assistance but I have heard of these kinds of cases (not to my knowledge in this state or not) being passed and successful as long as the terms of the court were met and followed through with.

and if her parents find out, you can get slapped with a restraining order keeping you away from their UNDERAGE daughter. and again, as i said before, unless her parents agree, ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. you family has no standing legally when your gf is concerned. none at all. she is not their child.
