Misdemeanor Charges for Harassment in Pennsylvania

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania

Suppose two people meet and date a few times, then become mutual friends. They are not really dating anymore for various reasons but just friends for a few months and both are dating other people the entire time, but both exchanging friendly texts and photos.

One individual possibly has a jealous or controlling significant other....(maybe).... and decides to stop communicating with the friend and ends abruptly. No arguments ever took place and nothing bad and no unkind words where ever said. Friend is bewildered. Wonders why. The police call. All communication stops. However, few quite friendly emails mistakenly slip through over the next month. Friendly as in how friends text and email. Summons appears for preliminary hearing. All communication ceases permanently.
No priors whatsoever.

How is this going to proceed?

The accused gets an attorney and either negotiates to have the charges dismissed or reduced to a summary level ($150 fine+costs or so).

If you can't stop yourself from sending emails, then this is going to go very badly for you. So figure out how emails are "mistakenly" sent so you can fix that mistake.

And get an attorney.
