    Default Expiring DNA

here is the situation: my fiance took a paternity test for a child that did not belong to him. the results cam back negative (he is not the father).
The paternity test was done at our local DSS office. Now the mother claims she is going to get a lawyer because a worker at the DSS office told her that the alleged fathers dna expired before she could go and test (she and the child tested a week after him; cotton swabbed) thats a lie!! but i just wanted to know if this could be true in any way...

If the first DNA test excluded him as the father, assuming she successfully gets a court order compelling him to take another, so will the next one.

If it's not his child, he has no say as to the child's name.

If it's not stored properly, it can deteriorate.

Can I come up with scenarios where improperly stored DNA could be rendered useless in a matter of days, or even minutes? Yes.

Do I know what happened in this particular case? No.

Depending on how it's stored and the surrounding conditions. I my self took swabs and had them stored in evelopes in my room (average TEMP) for a few weeks untill I was able to send them out. The testing facility told me in these conditions they were good up to a couple of months.
