Default How to Avoid False Drug Possession Charges

My question involves criminal law for the state of: new york. I recently went sober. 35 days now. My dealer flipped his wig because I refused to sell my food stamps to get him money to buy drugs. So he took some empty baggies and wrote property of my name on them and dropped them in front of the police station. I have his admitting to doing g this and his attempts to get me to sell my food stamps in messenger. Do I have anything to worry about? Can I press charges?

I doubt you have anything to worry about. There is little real proof that the baggies are yours, and I cannot imagine that truly empty baggies would be a crime in any case.

    Congratulations on your sobriety.

I suspect that the police are going to realize that empty baggies with "property of XXX" on them are going to be someone trying to get someone else into trouble. Even an idiot wouldn't write their name on empty baggies...particularly if the baggies had any residue of drugs in them...particularly if they are dropped outside the police station. Seriously.

Stop having any contact with the dealer.

If you are 35 days sober stop acting like you are -1 day sober. Your dealer is an idiot and you have nothing to worry about.

I've stopped all contact with him and blocked his fb and cell numbers. What gets me the most I guess is he was my friend for along time and supported my decision. Eh what can you do. Whack jobs will be whack jobs I guess.
