Default Illegal Roommate Won't Leave, Despite Agreement

    Hi,

I wrote about this guy before, but Peter is an illegal roommate (landlord doesnt know about him) who now literally refused to leave the apt despite the fact that he agreed to leave by May 1st. Peter sent my bf a text writing this and writing "I have nothing to lose." My boyfriend has already booked a flight to study abroad (flying out May 2nd) and needs his deposit back from Landlord.

peter knows that it will take 30 days after April 30th- the day after he agreed to leave to do the eviction proceedings. This means my bf will miss his flight. Is there any way we can expedite the eviction proceedings since we have text messages from Peter stating his intention to not leave?

Peter, for what it's worth has a mental disorder-- i think he's manic depressive. Peter also has civil records (and possibly a criminal record) to his name, and we think that's why he doesnt care if eviction proceedings are used against him. How best can we get Peter out of the apt in time for us to have the place clean and his stuff removed by May 1st? If eviction proceedings are placed against Peter and he refuses to leave, how do we ensure he follows through with it, and can we throw out his stuff?

    Thanks again everyone!

Whether he likes it or not, your boyfriend needs to talk to his landlord.
