My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Utah. Circumstances changed & instead of driving 15 mins out of my way to their charter school i wanted to switch my children back to the school they used to go to in the town we live in (my ex lives here also). My ex-husband told the charter school that our kids currently go to that he didn't want me to change their school. When I went to sign them out of school & change their records to the school I wanted them moved to the principal told me I couldn't unless I showed that I had the right to do so in my divorce decree. I got a certified copy of my decree & took it back. She then proceeded to say that since it says I'm only custodial parent for the purpose of determining whose holiday it is in our holiday parent schedule she wouldn't let me change them. My ex & I both have joint legal & joint physical custody. If we have the same rights, can they keep me from changing their schools?
