Default Accused of Debit Card Fraud by a Client

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Kansas, I have been a licensed CMA and CNA for 33 years. Recently, a client allowed me to make some online grocery purchases with her debit card for her home and my home. This client is always giving money to the help to buy things for themselves or buy groceries for her. I thought it would be more convenient to have the groceries delivered to our homes. Her bank flagged the purchases and now the client has no memory of authorizing such a transaction. She is going to sign a paper on Monday with her bank disputing the charges. What do I do. I feel damned if I do or dont speak to someone about this matter without fear of I dont know what.

First, you should have read the instructions more carefully when signing up and posting. They say not to post personally identifiable information. That appears to be a real name in the thread title and your personal email address.

Second, you need to go ahead and line up an attorney as there could be criminal charges or civil action from this. You don't necessarily have to hire them right away, just be ready to if something comes your way. If the police call you/come visit to talk about this, say nothing besides you will not be saying anything until your lawyer is present. Then stick to that.

Third, never ever ever do something like that without getting the permission in writing at the very least. If you are dealing with seniors or someone who is not fully competent, that might not even save you.
