My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nevada, my bf was charged for dv and the state picked it up . I don't want him to be charged because I exaggerated about some things out of anger because of an event that took place . You can try. They can refuse or agree. Many victims recant so they are used to dealing with this.

You need to realize that if you lied you can be charged with filing false police report.

Some 3/4 of DV victims recant or even lie to protect their abuser. The state knows this, and can address it if need be.

Before you confess to falsifying a police report, you might want to consult your own attorney.

The bottom line here is that the abuse is not your fault and you need counseling to understand that and to understand that your abuser needs to go to jail for what he did to you.
