Default Can You Be Prosecuted for a Sex Offense Based Only on the Alleged Victim's Accusation

I have a close friend that's in jail for a CSC in the first degree charge. His bond right now 250,000 and a 100,000 charge for controlled substance with no 10%. He says the girl is lying. Long story short, him and friend accompanied this minor I believe to a motel room. He said nothing never happened with her because they believed she was on the phone with the police. Once they discovered that she was on the phone the police, they decided to leave the motel. Now he's in jail. His partner got a 70,000 bond with 10%, and he was let out with a tether. I'm trying really hard to stick by his side and be some support. I just don't know what to believe anymore. I'm puzzled as to why his bond is so high, why is partner was approved for the 10% and he wasn't, and can someone just wake up and decide to lie and have you arrested. Do the police have to have some form of evidence in order to come search your home and vehicle and arrest you. Do any one have correct answers. Thank you!

There's a better-than-decent chance that you're not being told the whole story.

Other than that, we can't guess what did or didn't occur; your friend should be speaking to his attorney and considering his options.
