    So basically my questions are:
    1) How can I lower my charge to an infraction so I can correct it and erase it from my record? (reminder: this is my first offense)Consult with a criminal defense Attorney
    2) How can I change my address so that my parents don't find out?You can't
    3) Will I need to hire a lawyer? (I'd prefer not to... as they seem to charge a sizeable fee)Yes you need an Attorney if you cannot affford one request a public defender
    4) What are public defenders?Attorneys
    5) Can I get booked at any police station?Call and ask but I doubt it
    6) Can I change my court date to either a later date in the summer, so I am back in northern california, or can I change the location to LA?
Possible but you might want to retain a Lawyer to set that up

There's no way to change the address? I have a friend who has a friend who was caught before, and I talked to him about it and he goes to college in San Diego but is also from norcal, but they sent everything to his SD address because that was his "active" address (or where he is most of the time), which is basically the same thing as me. I am in LA most of the time.

I doubt that the police will be very interested in processing a change of address, nor is it likely to matter if you try as the report has probably already been passed on to a prosecutor in relation to the charges. If charges have been filed you should be able to register a change of address with the court, but make sure you use an address where you are confident that you will receive your mail.

You're going to have to face your charges in the county where you were charged.

If I just want a public defender, do I just show up at my court date, and one will be assigned to me? Are they just as capable as criminal defense attorneys?

Also, what kind of mail should I be expecting? One from the station, court, AND apple??? Will they call too???

    How old are you?

You can expect a civil demand from Apple, and any notice of court proceedings to come from the court.

Just wondering, but what can I expect on my first court date? Will the judge hand out a ruling? What kind of questions will I be asked? Do I get to say anything?
